I’m surprised with Ken Agyapong’s votes in my constituency – Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu
Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, the majority leader of Parliament, has expressed dismay at the quantity of votes that Kennedy Agyapong, the MP for Assin Central, garnered in his area during the recently concluded presidential primary.
It surprises him much, he said, because Mr. Agyapong received 389 votes.
Kennedy Agyapong received 40% of the total votes cast, compared to Mr. Mensah-Bonsu’s 20% prediction. Dr. Bawumia received 511 votes in the constituency.
In a historic election, more than 200,000 party delegates cast ballots, marking a significant turning point in Ghana’s eight-year electoral cycle.

Members of Parliament, chief executives of the Metropolitan, Municipal, and District levels of government, ministers and their deputies, NPP founding members, members of the party’s National Council, patrons, and council of elders are among the delegates that make up the Electoral College.
The remaining individuals include members of Tescon, the party’s tertiary students’ wing, as well as regional party officers, constituency officers, patrons, and elders, as well as coordinators of electoral areas, polling station executives, and abroad branches.
