I Was Not Impersonated During E-Levy Passage – Adwoa Safo Finally Breaks Silence

Sarah Adowa Safo, the member of parliament for Dome Kwabenya, has spoken out in response to the claim that she was impersonated by another female member of parliament in 2021 when the E-Levy Bill was being passed.

She claimed to have been present in the House when the contentious levy on electronic transactions was decided.

Remember that a fair-skinned woman appeared in the House and took Sarah Adwoa Safo’s seat as the contentious Electronic Transaction Levy, or E-Levy, was being passed by the legislature? The woman was hiding part of her face with a face mask.

I Was Not Impersonated During E-Levy Passage – Adwoa Safo Finally Breaks Silence

The Dome Kwabenya MP remained mute on the subject for a while until appearing in an interview on March 11, 2023, with Accra-based Onua FM.

Adwoa Safo responded, “I was the one,” when questioned if she had really been impersonated on the day the levy was passed by someone named Afia Akoto.

She clarified that because she had put on a little weight following the birth of her child, some people had assumed she wasn’t the one.

“As a woman, anytime you give birth, you undergo visible changes. The lady they saw appeared much heavier than what I used to look like. But I will say on authority that I was the one.

“But I had just gone through maternity. Even now, when you look at me, you can testify that I have changed,” she stated.
