Akufo-Addo set to announce ministerial reshuffle

Joy News has learned that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is expected to announce a ministerial reorganization shortly.

The names were decided upon at a meeting that took place at the Jubilee House on Friday, February 9.

After months of public pressure, the president is about to reshuffle his ministerial appointments in a big way.

The most recent changes to his government occurred a month after former Trade and Industry Minister Alan Kyerematen and Food and Agriculture Minister Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto quit to concentrate on their political campaigns.

According to insiders, the upcoming reorganization will involve a significant amount of changes, and it was subtly delayed to allow for the conclusion of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential and parliamentary primaries.

In order to relieve the impacted ministers of the added emotional burden of a possible loss as they assumed their new roles, the primaries were held over the weekend.

After the ruling party’s internal elections, the reshuffle was moved from December to February in order to prevent any defeated candidates from blaming the president for their defeat.

As part of the system’s revitalization initiatives, a number of Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) are targeted for replacement.
