I forgive them – Adwoa Safo tells MPs Who Criticized Her For Being Absent

Sarah Adwoa Safo, the Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), says she has forgiven all Members of Parliament who have criticized her extended absence from Parliament.

All of her critics in Parliament, she claims, were new MPs, and she has forgiven them as a result.

She went on to say that she still had an excellent relationship with her party in Parliament, as well as all of the female MPs.

Ms Safo also denied that she requested the position of Deputy Majority Leader as a condition of returning to Parliament.

“That is so, so incorrect,” Ms Safo said in an interview on Joy News on Thursday afternoon [May 26, 2022]. “I forgive everyone who went out there to trash me because of hearsay, third-party persons, or others telling them what they know, which is all untrue.”

“My Personal Assistant had come in to debunk all of that, and the reason I didn’t come in right away is because, as a seasoned female politician, when people are speaking loudly and you speak, you are not heard, and now is the time for me to explain why I kept my silence, and my silence was because it was too rowdy, it was too loud,” she explained.

Mr Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, Speaker of Parliament, has sent Ms Safo and two other Majority MPs to the Privileges Committee for missing more than 15 sitting days in Parliament.

I am still a staunch supporter of the NPP. Akufo-Addo

Because of her devotion to the NPP and President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Ms Safo also declared that she has no plans to run as an independent candidate even if she loses the primary.
