I don’t believe there’s any 8 to break – NPP’s Nana Akomea

Nana Akomea, the Managing Director of the State Transport Corporation (STC) and a former Communications Director for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), does not believe in the party’s plan to break the ‘8.’

The ruling party plans to create a new record by handing over power to itself in 2025, with the goal of breaking the ‘8’ barrier.

Nana Akomea, speaking on Peace FM’s morning show ‘Kokrokoo,’ argues that each election has its own dynamics, and that victory would be determined by accomplishments and promises kept.

” We are all aware of ‘Breaking the 8’ agenda, meaning that there’s something special about this election, but I don’t believe there’s any 8 to break. I believe every election is different. Previously, if you were not called John you can’t be President of this nation but in the 2016 election, the story changed,” he said.

Meanwhile, he claims that just because Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is the Vice President does not imply he would be the party’s running mate.

Many political experts believe Dr. Bawumia will be the party’s flagbearer, with Alan Kyerematen as his running mate.

Nana Akomea, on the other hand, believes that all will hinge on the outcome of the negotiations and the mutual understanding of all parties involved.
