I Can’t Do It Anymore: I Met Akufo Addo And Told Him The Truth – Abronye Tells It All

Bono Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Kwame Bafo Abronye has revealed details from a meeting he had recently with the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo.

According to Abronye, he told Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo the truth about his next line of action in the NPP.

Mr. Kwame Bafo made these revelations when he appeared on the Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen political program.

Mr. Kwame Bafo added that he is tired of being an executive of the New Patriotic Party, and wanted an appointment in the second term of the Akufo Addo government but he was turned down.

He told Philip Osei Bonsu that he has the academic credentials to hold any Ministerial position in Ghana.

“I’m tired of being an executive of the Party, so I had a meeting with the President and told him to give me an appointment because I can’t do Party work anymore.

Apart from the Attorney General, I don’t know the kind of Ministerial appointment I cannot hold in Ghana with my educational background.

So I was truthful to the President, but he told me to go back and continue serving the party at the regional level. I am not happy about that his response but I have no option”.

Mr. Kwame Bafo Abronye noted.

According to him, lessons he learned from the lengthy discussion with the President is that, there is an agenda to execute in 2024.

He added that Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo is determined to break the right year circle in government.

“I told the President I want to quit the party. I sat down with him and we discussed what I wanted because I delivered in 2020. I even sent my CV to him”. Abronye noted

Mr. Abronye added that there are a lot of people expecting positions in government but most of them will be disappointed.

“One thing I had from the lengthy discussion with Akufo Addo is that a lot of people are lobbying for positions but they should not be surprised if the tables turn”. Abronye added.
