My finest collaborations have been with Sarkodie-Efya

In a special interview with Kwame Dadzie of Joy Fm on Showbiz A-Z, the well-known singer-songwriter stated, “I have worked with almost 120 artistes.” So, the projects I worked on with Sarkodie were the most challenging.

The singer, whose songs include “I’m in Love with You” by Sarkodie, “Hold Me Down” by Akwaboah, “One of Your Own” by Bisa K. Dei, and others, stated on X (formerly Twitter) that musicians who had not released songs on which she had appeared in the preceding three years ought to either retake the song or not release it at all.

The composer claims that as musicians are always honing their craft and things change over time, songs that were released more than three years ago need to be revised and adjusted to better suit listeners’ tastes today.

Efya went on to explain that songs can’t be trapped in the past because every year introduces fresh kicks and loops.

“Nowadays it depends on the mic you are using. There is a certain way that I need things to be. The upgrade is not easy. When it’s done, it has to be maintained. It’s not really that bad. It’s no shade or anything. Come let’s make the song better”.
