Ghana has no cases of monkeypox – GHS
The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has refuted social media rumors that a case of monkeypox has been detected in the Western region.
According to the GHS, the person in issue instead reported to a health facility in the Ahanta West District with blisters.
Monkeypox is an uncommon disease caused by the monkeypox virus becoming infected. Monkeypox virus is a member of the Orthopoxvirus genus, which also includes the variola (smallpox) virus and the vaccinia virus, which is used in smallpox vaccines.
