Frank Naro to contest Ejisu Constituency parliamentary seat

Frank Osei, better known by his stage name Frank Naro, is a Ghanaian actor and musician who has announced his intention to run for the Ashanti Region’s Ejisu constituency seat in the legislature.

Frank Naro is to run as an independent, according to a flier circulating on social media.

He will face up against Mr. John Ampontuah Kumah, the current Member of Parliament and representative for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Netizens’ opinions on Frank Naro’s candidacy, however, were divided; some made fun of his political aspirations, while others offered their best wishes.

The actor/musician from Kumawood is hardly the first person to enter politics in recent times.

Lil Win, his senior colleague, had previously declared her intention to run for the Afigya Kwabre South constituency parliamentary seat.

At a very young age, Frank Naro began his acting career in Kumawood. Kwaku Manu served as his tutor, and he appeared in several films alongside him and other celebrities including Agya Koo, Akrobeto, Nana Ama McBrown, and Vivian Jill.

Following what he described as “spiritual attacks,” he later left the film business to pursue a career in music, putting out several hit songs.
