Nelson Mandela’s granddaughter passes on

According to her relatives, 43-year-old Zoleka Mandela, the first democratically elected late President of South Africa, passed away from cancer.

A spokeswoman said on Instagram that Zoleka died away on Monday night while being surrounded by loved ones.

She has gained notoriety in recent years for discussing her cancer treatment in detail, as well as for being forthright about her past of drug addiction, despair, and sexual abuse as a youngster.

Following the 2010 death of her 13-year-old daughter in a vehicle accident, Zoleka also advocated for increased road safety.

When Hope Whispers, her autobiography, contains the details of her life.

Zoleka had a breast cancer diagnosis little over ten years ago. After receiving therapy, she experienced remission; however, it subsequently came back.

She acknowledged having cancer in her liver and lungs last year, which later spread to other organs. Although she was receiving outpatient care, she had only recently been admitted to the hospital.

“I just underwent a CT scan, which revealed that I have blood clots and fibrosis in my lung. This explains why I’ve been experiencing chest discomfort.

“My medical oncologist has advised oral chemo and blood thinners. Positively, I’m immensely appreciative that I am still curable,” she posted on September 17 on Instagram.
