Eugene Arhin needs to be sacked – Sam George

The response from the Director of Communications at the Presidency to concerns raised by his colleague Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa about President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-travel Addo’s expenses, according to National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament Samuel Nartey George, rather exposes the government.

The lawmaker claims Eugene Arhin’s “poor” response came from “an empty diaphragm.”

On Monday, June 27, the Ningo-Prampram MP said Mr. Arhin would have been fired from his position if he had been working for an effective president.

He declared, “That’s no mean position for someone like Eugene Arhin, who is our Presidential Spokesperson.

“His extremely lengthy letter said a lot but accomplished nothing. Its diaphragm was bare. Since Eugene Arhin’s response actually reveals that the government is concealing something, I mean, if the President were up to his game, he would probably fire him for a shoddy response.

Regarding the President’s recent charter flight from Brussels to Rwanda’s capital Kigali for a Meeting of the Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Nations, there has been back and forth between the North Tongu MP and Mr. Arhin.

Mr. Okudzeto Ablakwa had noted that due to the 21-hour delay of the ACJ319 D-Alex flight from Germany to Brussels and then Kigali, the nation had lost a total of €480,000.00, or GH4.1 million.

But in response, the Presidency stated that President Akufo-Addo first flew from Ghana to Paris, France on a commercial flight, and then he took a train to Brussels.
