Eid-Ul-Fitr: Thursday, April 11, 2024, Declared Public Holiday

The public holiday of Thursday, April 11, 2024 has been announced by Ghana’s Ministry of Interior to commemorate Eid-ul-Fitr, a major religious occasion that is celebrated by Muslims all over the world.

On April 3, 2024, the announcement was announced via a press release that Interior Minister Henry Quartey signed.

“The general public is hereby informed that Thursday, April 11, 2024, which marks Eid-ul-Fitr, is a statutory public holiday and should be observed as such throughout the country,” the release stated.

The end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting, is marked by the religious celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr, also called the “Festival of Breaking the Fast,” which is observed by Muslims worldwide.
