EC holds Ejisu by-election today

Today, Tuesday, April 30, the Electoral Commission (EC) will hold a by-election in the Ejisu constituency to replace the late Dr. John Ampontuah Kumah, a deputy finance minister and member of parliament (MP), who passed away on March 7, 2024.

On April 13, 2024, Kwabena Boateng was chosen by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) from a group of nine candidates to compete for the seat and maintain the party’s leadership.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC), in opposition, has chosen not to take part in the by-election.

Former constituency MP Kwabena Aduomi, who is running independently after splitting from the NPP, will put up a strong fight against Kwabena Boateng.
