Duffuor’s Ahoto project first in History – Asiedu Nketiah

The Ahotor business project, a private initiative of Dr. Kwabena Duffuor, a prominent NDC member and former minister of finance, has been hailed by the opposition NDC’s general secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketiah as a first for any political party in Ghana.

The NDC Headquarters in Adabraka, Accra, hosted a party event on Thursday to formally endorse and launch the Ahot Project. The General Secretary, also known as General Mosquito, spoke at the event.

He claimed that given that Dr. Kwabena Duffuor was the Finance Minister who successfully revived Ghana’s economy, he was not surprised that he was the one to launch the historic NDC Ahot project.

“Since our party was founded, this project is the first of its kind. In order to structure the project effectively in accordance with the party’s principles, rules, and laws, we have been corresponding with the donor and want to work with Dr. Duffuor. This is what led to the project’s official endorsement taking longer than expected.

Asiedu Nketiah also emphasized the value of donations, dues, and contributions to the ongoing operation of the opposition party. He urged party members and the general public to follow Kwabena Duffuor’s lead as the opposition party gets ready to annexe power from the NPP government in 2024.

We rely on membership fees, gifts, and donations from the general public and our own members to stay afloat. Former party appointees have been donating to our cause. We are pleased to announce that Dr. Kwabena Duffuor, the donor of the Ahot project, was a former NDC government appointee who served as the bank of Ghana’s governor and as the country’s finance minister from 2009 to 2012.

He added that the Ahot project was a sustainable one that would not only bring in money for the party but also enable it to forego the need to rent chairs, canopies, and a PA system in order to host its own outdoor events.
