Former Asante Kotoko captain, Godwin Ablordey has stated emphatically that, there is no need to rush the return of football activities in Ghana amid coronavirus pandemic.
Football activity in the country has been suspended due to the coronavirus outbreak.
The return of football related activities remains uncertain due to the rapid growth of the deadly disease that has wrecked the world.
Ablordey in an interview with Koforidua based radio station entreated football administrators, players and lovers of the game to exercise patience while football remains suspended.
Asked if football season must be cancelled, he said, “We need to take advise from expects on what to do. We shouldn’t rust to return to the pitch because the disease is real”
“The truth is that we cannot compare ourselves to that of the Europeans. They have put things in place as they plan to continue the season. So if the Health Ministry sees it as prudent to start ours so be it. The Ghana Football Association must get in touch with the ministry before they decide on the season” he said.
