Domelevo finally breaks silence on becoming possible NDC running mate
Daniel Yaw Domelevo, the former Auditor-General, has refuted reports that he may join the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as a running partner in the next elections.
In an October 24, 2023, interview with TV XYZ, he stated that he has no interest in politics and that his position is primarily in the area of responsibility and rectification.
“I would like to make it clear that on the political one where somebody is talking about running mate, I am not a political animal.
“I don’t think any party that makes the mistake of choosing me as a running mate will win the election, because on the platform where we are campaigning, I will be correcting them and we are not going to be successful,” he said.
Recall that prominent Ghanaian media figure Paul Adom-Otchere claimed that pressure was building on former President John Dramani Mahama to consider Daniel Yaw Domelevo as his running mate for the 2024 general elections instead of Professor Jane Nana Opoku-Agyemang, who he had endorsed in 2020.

He said that the aforementioned proposal is the result of the conviction that Domelevo is innocent of any wrongdoing related to corruption charges.
Paul Adom Otchere claims that a number of people have encouraged President Mahama to take Domelevo into consideration in order to resolve and remove all allegations of corruption against him.
Speaking on June 10, 2023, on his Good Evening Ghana Show on Metro TV, he asserted that pressure has increased in the wake of Domelevo’s Supreme Court victory for his termination by the President.
“Can you imagine, my friend Domelevo as the running mate to President Mahama? That is the new agenda being pushed.
“There is immense pressure on President Mahama, which is why Professor Kwamena Ahwoi was compelled to state last week that John Mahama should retain Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang,” he alleged.
