Cristiano Ronaldo’s Man Utd return gathers pace as Max Allegri details Juventus plan
A potentially sensational return to Manchester United by Cristiano Ronaldo has moved a step closer after Max Allegri detailed his plans for Juventus going forward.
Ronaldo is reportedly ready to leave Italy after a disappointing season in which The Old Lady barely managed to finish in the top four of Serie A.
While the Portuguese superstar has enjoyed another remarkable individual campaign, finishing as Italy’s top scorer, it has not been a good season for the team as a whole.
Playing under first time coach Andrea Pirlo, Juve lost six games in the league to squeeze into fourth-placed on the final day.
They also suffered a shock defeat to Porto at the Last 16 Stage of the Champions League, with Juve having failed to make it past the quarter finals since Ronaldo joined the club.
That failure to win either Serie A or the Champions League this season cost Pirlo his job and has left Ronaldo ready to leave Turin.
The Portugal international is entering the final year of his contract at Juventus and if the Italian side want to recoup any of the £100million they paid for him, this will be the window to sell.
Only a handful of European teams would be able to afford the expected high fee and Ronaldo’s exorbitant wages.
One of those clubs is United, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer open to bringing in someone of Ronaldo’s experience to Old Trafford.
The attacker had a highly-successful six-year spell at the Red Devils earlier in his career, becoming one of the best players in world football and winning three Premier League titles.
