The Controller & Accountant General’s Department for Ghanaian teachers, has deducted an amount of Ghc1,194.63 from the salaries of teachers when their salaries are paid in November.
From the screenshot, the alleged deductions include Ghc100 for National Teaching Council (NTC) deductions for Teacher License and an amount of Ghc509.55 for the TM1 laptops which are being distributed to teachers in some parts of the country now.
These alleged deductions are currently raising some concerns among teachers in the country because according some of them, the supposed Ghc100 for National Teaching Council (NTC) license renewal was deducted just last year and the next deduction is expected to take place in 2024.
There is also a concern about the income tax which is Ghc459.95 and the amount the teachers are supposed to pay for the TM1 laptops despite the many protests calling for a reduction in the price because of the specification and number of laptops purchased by the government.
It should be noted that all these remain allegations until the salaries are finally paid at the end of the month of November. See the screenshot below
