Check out the huge amount Nyantakyi paid Anas to k!ll documentary

According to allegations made by Kwesi Nyantakyi, the former president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), he paid investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas $100,000 in an effort to stop the release of the video that exposed the corruption that finally brought about his demise.

In June 2018, Anas made public a video probe that showed the 55-year-old and multiple other football officials and administrators seriously undermining the game’s integrity.

After resigning from all of his positions with the GFA, CAF, and FIFA, Mr. Nyantakyi was then given a lifetime football ban, which was ultimately lowered to 15 years.

However, the former Vice President of CAF claims that Anas only managed to come up with $100,000 when he sought through his attorneys a sum of $150,000 in order to suppress the narrative.

Then, Mr. Nyantakyi disclosed that the tape was eventually made public and that Anas’ attorneys had informed him the sum was insufficient.

“Before the video was released, his lawyers reached out to me through a certain Kwame Gyan, a lecturer at UPSA. I met him at his residence around Westland and gave them the money,” he said in an interview with Onua TV.

“But they told me the amount was inadequate and later went ahead to release the video. After the video came out, I asked for a refund and even the refund was done in pieces. Today, they would bring $20,000, the next day another $10,000. They were giving me stories, but eventually I got everything back,” he said.

Mr. Nyantakyi has declared that he will run in the Ejisu by-election in the wake of the passing of local member of parliament John Kumah.
