UEFA have been urged to redo the Champions League last-16 draw after a mix-up involving Manchester United.
The Red Devils ultimately got Paris Saint-Germain in a mouthwatering tie which will see famous rivals Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi do battle.
However, that was after United were drawn against Villarreal, a tie which wasn’t possible because the two sides qualified from the same group.
Amid confusion over why the Red Devils were put in the pot to face Villarreal, Manchester City were subsequently pulled out instead.
And in viral videos on Twitter, it appears United were not placed the pot for a potential tie with Atletico Madrid, who ended up drawing Bayern Munich.
Meanwhile, there are claims Liverpool were mistakenly put in the pot for that tie.
Reports suggest Atletico have contacted UEFA – who are now set to make a decision on whether or not the draw can stand.
Speaking on talkSPORT, ex-Liverpool midifelder Danny Murphy suggested a complete do-over.
Sam Matterface began the conversation by saying: “I’m watching a replay of the draw and it definitely looks like Manchester United’s ball was not included in the Atletico Madrid draw. And that is a problem, isn’t it?”
Murphy said: “Well, then it has to be redone. Simple as that. I don’t understand why they didn’t just start again.”
