Ismail Mohammed Sherif Black Sherif, also known as Kwaku Frimpong, made a splash on the music industry in 2021 with the release of “First Sermon” and “Second Sermon.”

With “Kwaku the Traveller,” which shot to the top of the charts in Ghana and Nigeria in March 2022, he experienced his first major success.

The premiere of his album, “The Villain I Never Was,” at number 12 on the Billboard World Albums Chart was an incredible accomplishment for the up-and-coming musician.

Black Sherif has received an increasing number of honors, including the VGMA Artiste of the Year award, the 2023 BET Viewers’ Choice Award for Best New International Act, and the 2023 Headies Award for West African Artiste of the Year. This BET Hip Hop Award nomination is the latest in this series.

His steady ascent in the music business has not only cemented his place as one of Ghana’s most promising artists, but also enhanced his standing abroad.
