Asantehene to embark on historic visit to Ga State on June 9

On Sunday, June 9, 2024, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, is scheduled to visit the state of Georgia.

The Ga Mantse, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, will conduct a ceremonial durbar in the forecourt of his palace to cap off the momentous visit.

The ceremony comes after the Ga Mantse’s recent involvement in Otumfuo Osei Tutu II’s 74th birthday celebration and the 25th anniversary of his accession to the throne.

In a news conference, top planning committee member Nii Boye Abbey revealed the Ashante king’s details to the press.

“The Office of the Ga Mantse King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II and the Ga traditional council wish to announce the special visit of the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II to the Ga State on Sunday, June 9, 2024.

“The visit will be crowned with a special durbar hosted by King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II the Ga Mantse. It is a historic visit and it will rekindle the strong ties of friendship between the Gas and the Ashantis.”
