Arise Ghana to defy High Court ruling on protest

Arise Ghana, a pressure group, will disobey a High Court order requiring it to limit its protest on June 28 and 29 to between 8:00 and 4:00 pm.

In addition, the court ordered that the demonstration begin at the Obra Spot in Accra and end at Independence Square.

However, the group claims that as law-abiding citizens, they have followed all the procedures and have cooperated fully with the police.

Arise Ghana to defy High Court ruling on protest

On Tuesday’s Dwaso Nsem program on Adom FM, National Democratic Congress (NDC) National Youth Organiser George Opare Addo confirmed this.

He claimed that his group had applied for a stay of execution at the Court of Appeal to overturn the High Court’s decision regarding their planned protest.

The leader of the NPP Youth expressed shock at the turn of events, especially since it had come to an agreement with the police regarding the demonstration’s time and route.

The demonstration will take place on Tuesday as scheduled, according to Mr. Opare Addo, who accused the Police of acting in bad faith.
