Alan to announce political future today
On Monday, September 25, 2023, during a planned news conference, the former trade minister Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, who just missed becoming the leader of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), would reveal his political plans.
Despite coming in third place in the first round of the NPP’s flagbearer election, which reduced the field of candidates from ten to five, Mr. Kyerematen opted to boycott the November 4 congress, claiming that the party’s leadership was biased in favor of one particular candidate.

There is considerable suspicion that Mr. Kyerematen may decide to sever his relationship with the party and run for president as an independent.
The mystery surrounding his upcoming transfer, however, will be removed later today when he divulges his long-term objectives.
Alternatively, he may decide to pursue his political goals on his own or decide to remain with the party to further his political career, possibly supporting one of the other four candidates fighting for the coveted flagbearer role.
