Akufo-Addo to present State of the Nation Address on Feb. 27

On Tuesday, February 27, 2024, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is scheduled to deliver the State of the Nation address to the Parliament.

This is in line with Article 67 of the 1992 Constitution, which mandates that the President address Parliament on the status of the Union at the beginning of each session and prior to the Parliament’s dissolution.

It is anticipated that the speech would outline the administration’s main policy goals for the year and include details on how it plans to deal with the present state of the economy.

Majority Leader Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu gave an update to Parliament on Tuesday, saying, “Mr. Speaker, in accordance with Article 67 of the Constitution, H.E. the President will deliver a message on the State of the Nation to the house on Tuesday, February 27, 2024.” Honorable Members are kindly asked to make themselves available for the upcoming job.

This will be the penultimate speech that President Akufo-Addo gives before the legislature.
