A/R: Elections for the NPP have been shifted to Baba Yara Stadium

The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) in the Ashanti Region’s Election Committee has moved the regional executive election from the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Saturday, May 28th has also been set as the date.

After a marathon Regional Security Council (REGSEC) meeting with the Regional Election Committee led by Simon Osei-Mensah, the decision was made.

Some members of the party were critical of the prior decision to hold the elections at the RCC.

“I feel that the regional election is going well, people are campaigning especially [in the Ashanti area] where we decide our fate,” Davis Opoku Ansah, Member of Parliament for Mpraeso, said in an interview with TV3’s Komla Klutse on Wednesday May 25. It is critical that we revisit key judgments made by the regional elections committee.
