2023 Farmers Day: Agric Ministry announces closure of these roads

As part of the festivities for Farmers’ Day in 2023, the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA) has declared a five-day blockage inside the Ministry’s enclave.

Prior to the Grand Farmers Day Durbar on Friday, December 1, 2023, there will be a five-day agricultural fair, which will require the closure of the roads.

To enhance the annual celebration, Agrifest Ghana 2023—a fishery and agricultural event—will be held from Monday, November 26 to Friday, December 1.

The roadways that will be impacted are the ones that go from Starlet 91 Road to the National Theatre traffic signal, the Ridge Roundabout via Parliament House’s Principal Streets, Independence Square, the John Evans Atta Mills Highway, and the Court Complex to the National Theatre’s Principal Streets.

Ministers, the head of the civil service, the auditor general, the controller and accountant general, deputy ministers, chief directors, and directors will all have official passes that will allow them to enter restricted areas and reach their offices.

In a statement, MoFA instructed employees and visitors of the impacted government agencies to park their cars at Independence Square or Afua Sutherland Park.

To provide proper protection and the safety of cars parked in the approved places, additional Ghana Police Service officers would be sent out.
